'The Neutrino Passoire' is an arts & science performance conceived by Mairi Pardalaki at the invitation of particle physicist Kostas Nikolopoulos.

It recounts the journey of the neutrino, the elusive particle born in the sun, and follows its journey through space. Passing through all matter, the neutrino constantly oscillates between three states, three "flavours". This is how it reaches the Earth and us humans. Representing matter, and human bodies in particular, as sieves through which neutrinos constantly pass, the show questions the limits we create with the outside world. Is that boundary our skin? The neutrinos are a pretext for questioning the notion of borders - of all kinds.

For his work on "The Neutrino Passoire", Kostas Nikolopoulos received the European Research Council's (ERC) 2020 Award for public engagement.
